ndnickerson: (nancy drew ivory charm)

I have an original novel available on Amazon; here's the link. It's available in print or on Kindle.

Become a Patron!

I'm also publishing Nancy Drew fanfiction on Patreon. People who sign up to provide monthly pledges, or payments, are able to see what I post there. Some of the ongoing stories I'm posting there include the boyfriend experience, secretly, bound, and persephone. After six months, the stories and story chapters posted on Patreon are posted here on Dreamwidth, and on AO3. Stories marked as "This story (chapter) was originally published elsewhere" on AO3 were published on Patreon six months earlier. (Thank you for coming up with the original banner, [livejournal.com profile] killingstreak! :)

If you want to read my fanfiction here on Dreamwidth, please visit [community profile] ivory_charmed. (Some of the stories there are adult-rated, so please read responsibly.) My Nancy Drew stories are crossposted to [community profile] nancydrewfic.

If you want to read my fanfiction on AO3, here's the link. Again, some of the stories are adult-rated, so please read responsibly.

If you're into tumblr, my general everything tumblr is ndnickerson; my specifically Nancy Drew/Ned Nickerson fan tumblr is nedxnancy; my writing tumblr there is nancydrewdiary. I also roleplay as Nancy Drew Nickerson at nancydrewnickerson.

Nearly all of my personal entries here are friends-locked.

If you have any questions, please ask!

1. OH MAN I HAVE AN IDEA FOR A NEW STORY! It would be an AU futurefic.
3. But it's AU enough that I could eliminate the canon references and make it an original fic.
4. But... the scenario doesn't have enough plot to make it interesting if it isn't fanfic.
5. So I need more plot.
7. Also I love the fandom characters so much that I'm super invested if I'm writing about them. It's not nearly as exciting with original characters.
8. But it could be. If I bring in that other fandom element and tweak it enough to make it original.
9. But what if no one wants to read it unless it's fanfic.

Rinse and repeat.

okay. i wrote a fic two weeks ago, posted it... and while it has hits, no comments have been put on it. (or likes or kudos either.)

so, i don't know what to think about this. has the fandom dropped off, considering that Legend of the Seeker has been off the air for a year and a half? OR is the story itself bad? OR is it just mediocre? i know when i read a story i have no particular reaction to, and then it's hard to think of any feedback whatsoever, it's just easier to leave no feedback, so part of me thinks that's it.

but, i actually put effort into this to try to make it have some plot, so... i wonder whether that was my downfall.

the request: if you're in the fandom, and you have a few minutes to spare, please read the story (it's explicit, just so you know) and then tell me what to do. is it boring? lame? what? WHAT. WHAT.

and i promise to not cry much if you just say "well, it totally sucked, so there's that."
