trying to finish a story before the porn battle opens.
yesterday i went to IKEA (the closest one is a bit over 3 hours away from my house!) and SWEET JESUS. it was enormous. so enormous, in fact, that about halfway through the furniture showroom, i wanted to claw my way to the roof just so i could see sunlight again. not that i didn't really love the furniture. if i could've, i would've transported entire rooms to my house.
i walked out with... a plastic bag holder, four mugs (that look either purple or brown, depending on whether you are me or someone else), two table lamps with paper shades, a vase in case anyone ever gives me flowers, and two effing enormous 6'x6' bookshelves. in three boxes each. i'll need help to put them together, i'm sure. oh, also the most enormous blue IKEA bag ever, which will be perfect in the event of a beach trip or a sudden need to abduct a small to medium toddler.
i really wanted this particular duvet cover, but it didn't match the current decor of my guest bedroom... so i'll have to check into that. maybe new curtains are in order.
