okay. i wrote a fic two weeks ago, posted it... and while it has hits, no comments have been put on it. (or likes or kudos either.)

so, i don't know what to think about this. has the fandom dropped off, considering that Legend of the Seeker has been off the air for a year and a half? OR is the story itself bad? OR is it just mediocre? i know when i read a story i have no particular reaction to, and then it's hard to think of any feedback whatsoever, it's just easier to leave no feedback, so part of me thinks that's it.

but, i actually put effort into this to try to make it have some plot, so... i wonder whether that was my downfall.

the request: if you're in the fandom, and you have a few minutes to spare, please read the story (it's explicit, just so you know) and then tell me what to do. is it boring? lame? what? WHAT. WHAT.

and i promise to not cry much if you just say "well, it totally sucked, so there's that."

(actually, i had to go to the grocery store.)

What I wrote for Porn Battle XII:

forbid (nancy drew, nancy/ned, set in the runaway AU, follows runaway and to prove a negative; pg-13)
Carson forbids Nancy from seeing Ned. She disobeys almost immediately.

breathe out (so i can breathe you in) (nancy drew, nancy/ned, AU; NC-17)
Nancy and Ned are accidentally exposed to an experimental compound, with unexpected results.

lifeline (criminal intent, goren/eames, post-series; NC-17)
Dr. Gyson suggests a therapeutic exercise for Goren.

mistress (legend of the seeker, richard/kahlan, post-series; NC-17)
This honeymoon won't last forever.

--

I was going to write a Chuck story but I ran out of time, and I'll probably just add that to the list of stories I have in the works. And I had an idea for another Nancy Drew story but I'll probably just let that one go because I have too many going already. Blast it.

Day 10 - A show you thought you wouldn't like but ended up loving

That's actually happened quite a lot. Usually at that point it takes someone's outside recommendation to get me to watch.

So, here's shows I like and what I thought they were about before I started watching:

-Mad Men - Ad execs are drunken philanderers who like group sex. (That's from a promo AMC ran that included a scene from "The Long Weekend," when Roger and Don, Roger specifically, flirt with a pair of twin redheads, and Roger is clearly into the idea of the girls making out.)
-Chuck - Nerd somehow gets a computer put into his head and magically becomes a spy. (Well, if magically means two and a half seasons later. And the premise does sound insane; it's all in the execution.)
-Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Blonde airhead valley girl somehow is able to fight vampires. (A much more apt description of the movie.)
-Legend of the Seeker - Ridiculously hot guy, his untouchable girlfriend, and an old guy in a robe have a lot of fights in the woods. (Originally I had it on as background noise because the scenery is glorious. Then I got intrigued by the actual plot.)
-Big Bang Theory - Four viciously stereotyped nerds flirt with their neighbor across the hall, who may also live there, who knows. (Yes, before I watched I thought Howard and Raj lived in the apartment too; half the time it seems like they do.)

OH MAN. chuck 3x10 *almost* makes me forgive the angstpocalypse arc from earlier this season. SO EXCITED ABOUT 3x11.

i may have committed light treason. )

i've honestly been riding this high from what happened at the end of temple of the winds since last night, and i haven't been able to share my glee. unless someone on my flist has also read it! and wants to share! OH RICHARD/KAHLAN. i know there's a good reason i shouldn't start on the next book right now, but, honestly.

*peter graves has apparently died. i would watch the mst3k version of parts: the clonus horror as i tried to fall asleep tonight, but i think that's among the vhs episodes my exboyfriend lost. OH WAIT, NOW I HAVE IT ON DVD. i think, yes, i even have beginning of the end on DVD, but i think it's one of the ones i find it hard to get through. i'm saving those for when i'm under house arrest for either my prolific fanfiction authorship/when i declare publicly my undying contempt for shannyn sossamon.

where was i.

*i have now written, in the space of this rather busy weekend, not one but two legend of the seeker fics: one is appropriate for the kiddies, the other definitely not. argh.

*i just finished book 4 of the sword of truth series. OH THE CATHARSIS. mmmmm.

*i really enjoyed monday night's chuck episode, chuck vs the beard. from the previews i think i'll really enjoy the next episode, too.

however, on a related note, if you've witnessed my general s3 dissatisfaction here, and/or are following me on twitter: some other chuck authors (including [livejournal.com profile] mikki13 are tossing around the idea of writing an alternate season 3. it's pretty exciting. and it doesn't involve my au s3. speaking of, when i don't have a thousand other things to do, i really need to look at writing the next installment of that.

*four words: HOT TUB TIME MACHINE.

* criminal intent directors are really good at the pre-commercial abuse/meaningful glance/incest implication scenes. i always feel kinda bad for the actors. "so i really have to act like i'm gonna shove that kid's face against a stove burner? is there any way we can get around this?" "no. also, make your expression a little more evil, a little less conflicted."

* i blame [livejournal.com profile] jesshelga for my having mostly watched "you've got mail" this morning. and i agree with the "with anyone other than tom hanks, it wouldn't have worked nearly as well." the modem dialup noises were so cute.

* i seem to have started watching "legend of the seeker," because WGN shows a criminal intent mini-marathon on saturday afternoons that i almost always seem to tune in to, and "legend of the seeker" shows right after it. however, we're now mid-season 2 and i haven't seen season 1. so i poke around on amazon and end up ordering the first three books in the series instead of the s1 DVD set. this should be interesting.

* picked up a reliable wife by goolrick based on its kickass cover art. and slaughterhouse five because i read a few vonnegut short stories and got intrigued.

* barbecue chicken in the crock pot. MMMMMMMMM.
