ndnickerson: (legend of the seeker)
so, now that i've finished the entirety of the sword of truth series (for now, anyway, and not including debt of bones), are there any post-series tags for the books? i'm having a hard time finding any book-based fic at all.

granted, that won't stop me from writing it or anything.

(also apparently there's going to be another richard and kahlan book published next year? if i had any say in it i'd request at least half of it be sex, but i won't be so lucky, i know.)

Day 25 - A show you plan on watching (old or new)
Day 26 - OMG WTF? Season finale

Oh, there are a lot of shows I plan on watching. Party Down, Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, maybe some Deadwood. I've recently started watching 30 Rock and Better Off Ted. Oh, and Band of Brothers.

As to the batshit crazy season finale, I'm gonna go with... Alias, S2. Needless to say, spoilers ahoy.

Day 27 - Best pilot episode
Day 28 - First TV show obsession

There are so many great pilot episodes. I know I'm probably forgetting some spectacular ones, and there's always the issue of pilot episodes that aren't equal to the quality of the rest of the series, but.

I really do think the Chuck pilot did a great job, because it sold me; I was a complete skeptic about the show before seeing it.

(With bonus Spanish subtitles. My favorite? "Auto-Nerd.")

First TV show obsession... man, who knows. I remember eagerly discussing Star Trek: The Next Generation episodes with my friends. (We'd be watching at the same time and gush "it's a Wesley!" if Wil Wheaton's name appeared in the opening credits.) One of the first shows I recorded regularly was The Tomorrow People, new series, along with The X-Files and some episodes of Lois & Clark.

Day 29 - Current TV show obsession
Day 30 - Saddest character death

Current TV show obsession... well, now we're in the inbetween time for summer, but Mad Men is starting about a month from now.

Others: Community, Justified, Chuck. And I watch an inordinate amount of Tosh.0.

Fandom-wise, it's mostly Chuck and Legend of the Seeker right now.

Saddest character death... hmm. Well, we did just see the end of Lost, which featured any number of Jears-worthy deaths. However, if you watched The X-Files, and you saw "Closure," when they revealed Samantha's (most-likely) fate... well, I still want to cry when I hear "My Weakness" by Moby, because of that episode. Technically Samantha didn't die in that episode, but Mulder found out what had happened to her and it was kind of like her dying all over again, because until then he just didn't know.

(I found the explanation lame, but the emotional impact of that scene in the field was still pretty powerful.)
