I've started this labor of loooooooooove (aka rewrite of Secrets of the Nile), which I have dubbed Honeymoon on the Nile, and the first chapter is posted at ivory_charmed. Not a lot of Joe and Bess interaction until chapter 2 (which is also finished but not posted yet). There's been a lot of disagreement on how far their relationship should go, so we'll just see what happens when I get there (there probably being chapter 10, where there will be CANONICAL DANCING).

That may be my new favorite phrase.

Lots of dancing!! I always laugh when I read your tags about dancing on nedxnancytumblr esp when you're posting an excerpt from a Mystery Story.

On a totally irrelevant sidenote, for this prompt of yours:
Mystery Stories AU. A week after Nancy accepts a marriage proposal from the junior partner in her father's firm, she is drawn into a new mystery also being investigated by the River Heights police department's newest addition: Ned Nickerson.

I *think* I have an idea as to how the story is going to be like but is it okay if I don't stick too strictly to the Mystery Stories universe? I know it's an AU but still, I'm not exactly very familiar with that particular time period. Although a Mystery Story will just mean a makeout session and nothing more... Oh well.

Oh, no, it's totally cool for you to update it to the present. I was thinking the scenario would be more likely 50 years ago, but it could work just as well now. And hell, I am ALWAYS in favor of makeout sessions that escalate into a lot more, so I'm definitely not going to limit you to just making out. ;)

I don't think I'll set it 50 years ago, but I don't think I'd set it in the present as well... maybe somewhere in between? I have no idea - I've only written the first 400 or so words and who knows, I just might abandon this story halfway (as I have for so many others) :S

Hmmmm, I for one will definitely want them to do something more than just making out but... we'll see :>
