MORE QUESTIONS, I AM COLLECTING QUESTIONS LIKE A MAGPIE.



1: Apart from tumblr, what do you like to do in your spare time?

Read (argh I have to budget time to do this and I have been slack about reading in the past few days), write fic, bake things I can't eat on my diet.

2: Name a favorite of each: food, drink, color.

Food: chocolate; drink: Pepsi Max; color: purple.

3: If you married rich and your spouse gave you $100,000 a week, what would you spend it on?

OH MAN. New computer(s! why not!), an iPad, an iPhone 4S, new car(s), vacation homes, bizarre ingredients I've only seen on Chopped, an ice cream machine!, paying off my mortgage/loan, paying off my family/friends' mortgages/loans, charities, electronics, books, DVDs, FUNDING NASA. Oh and also I'd bribe whoever I'd need to bribe to become Carolyn Keene. Or, hell, I would bribe whoever I needed to bribe to be allowed to write my own legit adult Nancy Drew series.

4: Name a favorite of each: book, movie, tv show.

Book: Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte; movie: Dark City; TV show: Mad Men.

5: If you were given the opportunity to spend 48 hours with absolutely anyone (living or dead), who would you spend it with and what would you do?

I’d spend it with my maternal grandmother, who died when I was 12 years old (I think). I’d ask her about her childhood and my mom’s childhood and what made her love the books she did (because she also read Agatha Christie and Perry Mason and mystery books). And I’d ask her to try to teach me how to crochet or knit or something and I’d just enjoy her trying to teach me because I think I can’t learn no matter what.

6: Name a LEAST favorite of each: food, drink, color.

Food: cilantro; drink: tequila; color: fluorescent green.

7: What do you spend most of your money on?

The actual answer to this is my mortgage. I spend most of my spare money on books, DVDs, and movie theater tickets.

8: What kind of underwear do you prefer wearing?

Uh, Victoria's Secret? If you mean style I generally wear bikini underwear.

9: Name a LEAST favorite of each: book, movie, tv show.

Book: My Little Blue Dress by Bruno Maddox; movie: Swimming Pool; TV show: Cupcake Wars (there are much worse shows on TV but that one irritates the hell out of me)

10: If you were sat on a plane beside your favorite celebrity, what would you do?

Um. If I were to board a plane, all cranky and wearing comfy elastic-waisted travel-ready pants, and find that JOHNNY DEPP were sitting beside me, first the flight attendant would have to resuscitate me. And then I would, assuming that he didn’t immediately call for my execution:

a. Ask him to say something to me in French
b. Tell him that I love him and that, if he develops a thing for slightly chubby blonde chicks, I would like to be first on the list
c. Tell him that if his skin brushed mine I would die a happy woman
d. Ask him what he was thinking when filming The Ninth Gate because OMG that movie was awful even though he was great but the movie was awful OMG 
e. Drink enough tiny alcohol bottles of liquor to try to make out with him
f. Change my Facebook relationship status from “forever alone” to “OMG JOHNNY AND I ARE TO BE MARRIED” 

11: What is the strangest thing you have in your room? (You are not allowed to explain why you own it.)

A fighting nun.

12: What is a weird habit you have, or people have told you that you have? (Weird, not bad. No nail biting or any of that nonsense.)

I use my turn signal in parking lots. This makes people laugh and/or get exasperated.

13: What would you consider to be the biggest insult to yourself?

I guess this is a hypothetical. Hmm. I guess idiot, although I fully acknowledge that I am not as good at some things as I am at others. I'd say slut but I know I'm not one. Fat would hurt my feelings, though.

14: What are five things you absolutely have to have in your dream house?

1. A WROUGHT IRON SPIRAL STAIRCASE
2. A SECRET PASSAGE, WITH A SECRET ROOM! (Maybe involving that spiral staircase.)
3. An enormous library. Like, imagine Beauty and the Beast. Yeah.
4. A DUMBWAITER! (No, I don't know why.)
5. An enormous stone fireplace.

15: If you could be reincarnated as any animal, which would you choose and why?

Eh. I really have absolutely no opinion about this answer. Maybe a cat.

16: Which band (current or past) would you want to go on tour* with? (*Travel with, not perform with.)

Probably My Morning Jacket.

17: Name a favorite of each: band, album, song.

Band: Interpol, album: Synchronicity by The Police, song: "Minerva" by Deftones.

18: Why is your favorite band your favorite?

Hmm. My favorite band of all time is The Police, and it's partially because I started listening to them when I was at that particular age and I got so emotionally invested in it. And I've actually been able to see them perform, which was great.

19: How many concerts have you attended? Which was your favorite? Least favorite? If none, who do you want to see live the most?

Not sure how many concerts I've been to; I've been to a few festivals with tons of performances. Favorite was the first time I saw My Morning Jacket. Least favorite was, hee, Hootie and the Blowfish, but only because it was POURING RAIN during the performance and I was not under the awning. I would love to see Radiohead live.

20: What is one of your favorite song lyrics? (Who is it by?)

Oh hell, too many to choose from. So I'll just go with one from "Dondante" by My Morning Jacket:

you had me worried, so worried that this would last
but now I'm learning, learning that this will pass

21: Who do you ship?

It's easier to say who I don't. My main ship right now, and for the rest of time, is Nancy Drew/Ned Nickerson. Others: Riker/Troi, Kahlan/Richard, Chuck/Sarah, Lois/Clark, Peggy/Father Gill, Sydney/Vaughn, Veronica/Duncan, Mulder/Scully, Perry Mason/Della Street, Claire/Jamie... so many more.

22: What band merch do you own? If any, whose is it and when did you get it? If none, whose do you wish you owned?

I have, hee, a Hootie and the Blowfish t-shirt that's falling apart, a My Morning Jacket t-shirt that swallows me whole and another that doesn't, an Interpol t-shirt that finally fits me, a My Morning Jacket poster. Oh, and a Bush t-shirt I inherited. And two Police t-shirts. A Live t-shirt (somewhere, although I'm not quite sure where right now) and a keychain. A Goo Goo Dolls t-shirt. The Bush t-shirt is the only one I didn't buy at a concert, and one of the MMJ shirts is a fan club t-shirt.

23: How did you learn of the band that is currently your favorite?

My favorite right now is probably My Morning Jacket, and I first discovered them while watching The Lookout, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

24: What celebrity do you idolize the most?

Idolizing celebrities only ends in heartache/disillusionment. I am very fond of Joel McHale, though.

25: Which member from which band would you most want to lather in nutella?

Paul Banks from Interpol. NO I DON'T KNOW WHY. SHUT UP. IT'S BECAUSE HIS LYRICS ARE AWESOME.
