I filled this out over on [livejournal.com profile] ozqueen's journal, and decided to post it over here too, for the heck of it. :)

What sort of things do you use your journal for?

Not much, lately; updates when I exercise and occasionally writing-related stuff. And it's almost all friends-locked. I spend more time updating my writing journal ([livejournal.com profile] ivory_charmed).

What are you favourite haunts on lj, dw, the web in general?

On LJ I read [livejournal.com profile] little_details, [livejournal.com profile] het_reccers, [livejournal.com profile] bakebakebake, [livejournal.com profile] ohnotheydidnt, [livejournal.com profile] milady_milord (for Community Jeff/Annie fanfic). And I'll pimp my Nancy Drew fanfic community too, [livejournal.com profile] nancydrewfic. I spend a bunch of time on tumblr, though, and half of what I do on there is look at Nancy Drew related posts. ;)

What do you like to do when you're not on the 'net?

Write. Seriously, that's the majority of what I do when I'm not online. And sometimes, about once a week, I go to movies, go out with my friends, shop.

Write a list of your favourite things: foods, movies, music, alcoholic drinks, whatever you want...

Foods: Although I'm on a low-carb diet, I do still utterly adore chocolate, and thank God there are low-carb chocolate candy bars. Otherwise I can eat pizza pretty much every day of the week, and I love a good pork or beef roast, and chicken, and seafood - I just love meat. Bacon, mmm.
Movies: I'm generally bored by soppy romance movies—they have to earn it, dammit! I like it best when the hero's journey involves love but that isn't the be-all and end-all of it (in Dark City, for example, John's relationship with Anna is important, but everything he's going through isn't just to win her love). If I watch a relationship movie I want it to come with a side of angst, please (which is why Closer is one of my favorite movies). Otherwise I love action, drama, mystery, crime dramas, well-done sci-fi, smart comedy, and screwball comedy; I also ADORE when a movie has a great aesthetic. My top five movies right now, in no particular order, are Closer, The Fall, Dark City, Sunshine, and Brick.
Music: I hate twangy country music and I generally don't care for folky singer-songwriters; I love rock music. My favorite bands right now are Interpol and My Morning Jacket; the last song I downloaded was "Champion" by The Chevin after I heard it on Conan one night this week. And I'd absolutely love to see Deftones in concert. I was so amazingly delighted to be able to see The Police in concert because they were my first favorite band and I was sure I never would be able to see them in concert. I love The Rolling Stones and Frank Sinatra.
Alcoholic drinks: After a particularly interesting evening when I was 20, I swore off tequila, and I also developed an aversion to orange-flavored liquors. Left to my own devices I drink Johnnie Walker Black (scotch). Vodka and rum are my other go-tos. I've never tried beer because it smells nasty and I hate the taste of wine, which disappoints me to no end, because I always loved the idea of wine.
TV: Shows I'll be watching this season: Community, 30 Rock, Mad Men, Archer, Justified, Chopped; probably Elementary as well; Downton Abbey and Sherlock once I can get my hands on those. Shows I keep meaning to get into: Breaking Bad. I'm open to suggestions; clearly I like mystery shows, and I do watch The Mentalist and Psych on a less than regular basis, and Futurama whenever I catch it on.
Shows I love(d) which are off the air: Arrested Development, Chuck (the second season was awesome), Lois & Clark, Carnivale, Pushing Daisies, Veronica Mars (before season three, anyway), Mystery Science Theater 3000, Lost, Alias, Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

What do you wish you knew more about?

Almost everything. I would seriously love to go to back to school for my doctorate degree. The only subject I didn't like when I was in college was sociology because it seemed like a less awesome version of psychology. I'd even love to take more physics classes - as long as grades weren't involved. And I really want to learn French.

Anything else you want to add?

That I really need to watch The Avengers again today. ;)

We're having an Avengers movie night this evening! (My sister and I are getting Shawarma and introducing my dad to the wonder that is Coulson's vintage set of Captain America trading cards, but it'll probably leak over to Tumblr, Twitter, and maybe even LJ). You should totally hop in, and maybe even play the Avengers drinking game with us!

Awesome! Considering the one rum and diet coke I had at dinner was enough to make me happy... hee. :)

I do really want to watch it again either tonight or tomorrow, though. Soon, anyway.

Is happy a euphemism for drunk? Because if so, you need to write hilarious drunken fic and post it before you can talk yourself out of it. Just saying.

My name is Frea O'Scanlin and I am a horrible enabler.
