hi yuletide santa!
Dec. 25th, 2008 09:54 pmThank you so, so much for writing me a story! =)
So, I requested:
Nancy Drew
Nancy Drew, Ned Nickerson
Nancy/Ned or Nancy gen, no slash, and no Frank Hardy unless it's for Nancy/Ned angst value. Can be Nancy and the girls working on a case, Nancy and Ned stealing some alone time, etc. I'm happy with anything from PG to NC-17.
Mad Men
Don Draper
Het or gen, but no slash. Don doesn't have to be the main or only character. I like Don/Betty and Don/Rachel, and I think Don/Peggy could be interesting if well done. I also like Peggy/Father Gill, although canon's more Peggy/Pete. I'd love to see something on Joan's wedding, if she goes through with it. Character studies are great. Anything from PG to R.
Erle Stanley Gardner - Perry Mason series
Perry Mason, Della Street
Perry/Della or gen, no slash. Either Perry and Della working on something, or: Perry keeps asking Della to marry him, and Della keeps refusing, but every now and then she's tempted to pretend, for a while, especially when they've ended up somewhere romantic on a case. Anything from PG to R.
Get Smart (tv)
Maxwell Smart, Agent 99
Max/99 or gen, no slash. I'd love to see them on assignment together, but what I'd most love to see is a rewrite of their wedding. My favorite scenario is that they are accidentally married while undercover, and during the month it'll take Control to fix it and work out the red tape, they actually figure out they don't want it to be over. Anything from PG to R.
Just in case you want some more information:
In general: Since neither Perry Mason novels nor any episodes of Get Smart include any actual sex, I'm more comfortable with tasteful allusions and fade-to-black than reading about the act itself. However, I can totally see someone doing an awesome job with handling it very well, so it's up to you. Mad Men is fairly up front about sex, so I can accept it in that story very easily. Where Nancy and Ned are concerned, I'm fine with explicit sex, some BDSM, mild D/s, that kind of thing. I'm not into many other kinks, though.
I am a sucker for: dances in full evening costume, excellent characterization, and romance with some degree of angst. I also like being pleasantly surprised, so if nothing in my prompts appeals to you, have fun. Just no slash, please.
Nancy Drew: Nancy/Ned is my OTP. Honestly. I love them. I love meet-cute stories, I love them stealing a quiet moment together during a case, I love them working together on a case, I love Ned saving Nancy from danger, I love stories of how they become engaged, I love stories about their wedding, I love stories about them married. I love romance as long as it isn't too sappy, angst, drama, stories where they fight and are reconciled. I'm also totally fine with anything from them holding hands to full-blown hardcore sex. If you absolutely must bring Frank Hardy into it, I like him only for his angst value in Nancy and Ned's relationship.
If you can't do Nancy/Ned, I'm fine with a gen story where Nancy's working on a case with Bess and George, or by herself, or a moment when Nancy's just letting herself relax for once and have some fun. I like it all. No slash, please.
Mad Men: I tend to ship canon couples, so I'm for Don/Betty, maybe some Don/Rachel. For some reason I really like Peggy/Father Gill, although I'm not quite sure they'd work as a couple, maybe more that I see his earnest desire for her to confess as genuine concern for her. All of the characters are so... sad, though, that I see any story as some massive angst-fest. I want to see Joan's wedding, whether she went through with it or not, although I'm sure she will because what other choice does she have. I can see Don with Peggy or Joan, if it's done well. I also for some reason would love to see what would've happened if Peggy had gone with Paul during the first season, before he seemed to become quite so full of himself. Honestly, I'd love almost anything here, except slash. Even crazy angsty Peggy/Pete.
Perry Mason: I love, love, love Perry/Della, although here, I almost run into the same problem as Mad Men. Della wants to be with Perry but knows she'd give up her place in his professional life to do so, and can't bear the thought of it, so she'd rather stay mostly professional. It's not that I want some steamy interlude on his desk, but I can very much see something handled tastefully, and I can imagine the scenario I named, where Perry takes Della somewhere nice during a case, they do end up in Mexico every now and then, and Della lets herself pretend for just a little while that things are different between them. Perry does also every now and then go out to a remote hunting cabin or similar, and I'd be cool with them maybe hanging out there for a while, or Perry keeping Della buttonholed in his apartment or maybe just in his apartment building while the police are looking for her.
If you can't do Perry/Della, I like snarky fun interludes between Perry, Della, and Paul. Or pretty much anything in character. No slash.
Get Smart: I think on the show that while they did end up together, it felt rather forced. From the beginning, 99 was almost always into Max, and Max... well, Max's serious pursuit of her only came when she was engaged to someone else. Instead of having Max agree to marry 99 when they're in a situation that seems impossible to escape, and then to have her work out a solution and then basically strongarm him into marrying her... I'd love to see them go undercover together, somehow end up participating in an actual legal marriage ceremony, and then, while trying to undo it, falling for each other. I want it to be mutual. I also want some other marriage ceremony besides the one we actually have, with 99 in her bizarre baby bonnet and Max having to stand up during the honeymoon since there's a map-rash on his chest. No thanks.
If you can't do Max/99, I'd love to see them in a gen story interacting with Larabee, Hymie, and/or The Chief. Siegfried and Shtarker are also a lot of fun. Crazy assignments, inventions, gadgets, the sky's the limit. Just no slash, please.
