May. 12th, 2012 02:18 pmSo I joined Birchbox! Someone on here recommended it (I forget who, because of course when I have that many tabs open I inevitable hit a Flash-related browser crash) but I just got my first box. I am going to keep a list so I can keep track of what I liked and what I didn't.
Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse Beauty Balm - There was only enough for one use, but this is tinted moisturizer/sunscreen/treatment-foundation, and I wore it for 11 hours without needing to blot, so I definitely recommend it.*
Kérastase Cristalliste Bain Cristal Fine (shampoo) - There's enough for me to use this twice! First use, it has a nice scent and my hair feels soft and silky.
Kérastase Lait Cristal conditioner - There's enough for me to use this twice! First use, it has a nice scent and my hair feels soft and silky.
Kérastase Cristalliste Lumiere Liquide
Color Club Foil Collection nail polish in Disco Nap
stila sparkle waterproof eye liner, curacao
leftover from Christmas
Benefit Stay Don't Stray primer
Benefit girl meets pearl for face
*I am extremely fair, and I burn with minimal exposure to the sun, so my face is red year-round. The Beauty Balm went on an almost putty color, but it blended well to cover the red on my face, which is one of the qualities I look for in a foundation. The other is not turning oily after an entire day's wear. When I got home and checked it after 11 hours, my nose was just a little shiny, but it held up extremely well. It didn't work well as a primer, though; my eye makeup had settled into the creases like it normally does, but that's okay.
What I've generally been wearing to work every day is Clinique spot concealer (to cover the purple shadows under my eyes, due to my perpetual lack of sleep), Clinique dramatically different moisturizing lotion, Clinique superbalanced powder makeup, Clinique translucent facial powder, Clinique or Benefit eyeshadow, Clinique mascara, Benefit Hollywood Glo (this gorgeous coppery liquid that I use instead of blush), and Clinique lipcolor.
