i think it's been a while since i've done this...
glasheen25 asked which episode of veronica mars is my favorite and why.
this is another show i started watching after
fairy_tale_echo told me it was great. since i've long adored nancy drew, and veronica really is rather nancy drew-ish, it was only logical that i'd probably like it. and veronica had an edge and was fearless and that was awesome.
however, i'm in a small minority that ships veronica/duncan instead of veronica/logan, which,
spoilers for this show, which has been off the air for a few years now
yeah, go back now if you're planning on watching but haven't
is actually a spoiler because one of the big mysteries in the first season is who veronica's biological father actually is. since i don't do incest, yeah, duncan isn't veronica's half-brother. but veronica lost her virginity to duncan, both during shelly's party *and* when they actually had sex and weren't all drugged up, and i loved how sweet duncan was, and supportive, and, yeah, ned-like. yes, i am ignoring his whole freakout when he was going off his meds thing.
(this raises this whole other meta issue about how some nancy drew readers didn't like ned because they said he had no personality, and some/a lot of veronica mars watchers didn't like duncan because they said he had no personality.)
when duncan was written off the show mid-season 2 (the level of retcon that must be employed to justify the reason for his leaving is pretty staggering, really), i didn't really want veronica to be with logan, but, there he was. then there was season 3 and i stopped watching at the end of the first major arc of the season. they went on break and i didn't come back, so i can honestly say that i have no favorite episode from season 3.
to be honest i think my favorite episode is probably "nobody puts baby in a corner" from season 2, because veronica and duncan work together and the ending, thanks to the soundtrack, is just so damn creepy, and it's before duncan leaves, and while i kind of like "donut run" because there's this interesting setup, it just isn't tenable. ugh.
so, while i'm in favor of there being a veronica mars movie, and i'd go watch it... part of me would still be sad that duncan wasn't involved. ahh well.

and as far as I know the VM movie probably won't happen. I suppose the show ended a few years ago and although there would still be a lot of fans - I wonder would there realistically be enough to make the project financially viable?
