I watch three shows. Well, four, but Mad Men ends Sunday, and I don't consider it a "regular season" show. It's like cheesecake. Yummy and brief and then it's gone for a while. And gorgeous.
Due to my heinous work schedule I usually see Pushing Daisies live, and I have to watch The Mentalist and Chuck on the DVR. Tonight I had the house to myself so I was able to watch those.
Oddly enough when I first read this episode title, considering some recent plots, I expected Chuck to be at the mercy of some tarted up older ladies. I'm glad that wasn't the case. Zachary Levi was totally awesome, in fact the entire cast was totally awesome in this one. I love that Chuck bought Sarah a dress, and a cheeseburger, and... it's like they managed to undo all the damage they did when he "broke up" with her. Because I think it's clear that he didn't, not really. And I'm all for angst, so I guess the next time they get close, there'll be that, and then... oh, I know they won't end up in bed together, not really, although they did play "Smack My Bitch Up," so hell, maybe they will. Anyway. I am in love with all of them.

After reading Ned/Chuck fanfic, I have to say that the shot at the end of the episode really... heh. was interesting. I really friggin' love this show. I spend the entire time I'm watching it glued to the television set, in awe of it, eyes wide like I'm five years old, laughing delightedly. Honestly. It's perfect. Well, practically so. And glorious. Anyway. I love that Chuck is calling Ned her boyfriend, and that he told her not to move back in even though that's what they both wanted, and... yeah, that thing she did at the end of the episode. Which I think they've kind of implied has happened before. And really makes me want to write fanfic about them.

I think I read somewhere on LJ that this show is utterly ridiculous, and it probably is; however, considering that every television show I watch is on some level ridiculous, I don't necessarily see that as a bad thing. I love Simon Baker's cockiness and how unflappable he is, and his vests, and that he will lie down given the opportunity, and for that reason most of the time I don't care if the plots are off the wall or crazy. I love that he's angsty but hides it with almost everyone, he doesn't shove it in everyone's face to make them feel guilty. He's more subtle than that. And he's a bit reckless, probably because he knows it'll all work out in the end, but I think also just a little because he's so guilty over what happened to his family that, on some level, it'd be a relief to not have to think about it anymore. I think someone has asked him whether he has a family or about his family in every episode so far, or at least it feels that way. Anyway. He's glorious and the rest of the cast has a lot of fun and I am all for it.
Criminal Intent starts again November 6! Yaaaaaaay! And then I'll have another show to watch. And then in January it's Lost, but I think that's about it, really.
