ndnickerson: (het big bang)

So I'd post this at [livejournal.com profile] het_banghelp but this keeps happening:

-I go to http://het-banghelp.livejournal.com.
-LJ says I'm not logged in. Even though I clearly am.
-I log in.
-LJ returns me to the stupid generic "welcome back" page.
-I go to http://het-banghelp.livejournal.com.
-Wash, rinse, repeat.

I can visit other communities I have a membership in (and yes I do have a membership in that one) but THAT ONE IS BEING A PAIN ARGH.

The rules at [livejournal.com profile] het_bigbang say that my fic must focus on my declared het pairing (which is Nancy/Ned). It may also include secondary pairings.

The story I'm currently working on (which is just over 15k words) is, in my own head, Nancy/Ned, but the majority of the plot focuses on Nancy/OC and Ned/OC. It started with Nancy/Ned and will end with Nancy/Ned, but the middle isn't that.

So I'm having a crisis. I don't know what to do. While I'll finish that story even if I don't decide to use it as my bigbang story, I need to figure out if I'll use it for that or not. Because if I'm not going to mentally designate it as my het-bigbang story, other crazier things are going to happen. In the plot.

And since I think you, my readers, like polls, or possibly are all watching tennis or drinking:

I just went there, and I'm not getting that error. Sorry, bb. :(

Mine is totally an OT3 story that I'm passing off as Annie/Troy. I might be in trouble, but I'm spending 98% of the time in Annie's and Troy's heads, and it will end with that pairing (with a heavy dose of Abed). I wouldn't worry as long as it ends with your declared pairing!

I don't think it will matter that Nancy are Ned are with other people as you are making it very clear that they want to be with each other.

I think the story you are writing right now is great and you should definitely use it for your big bang. Although I do like the sound of Nancy attending Emerson and OMG Bess is with Ned. Bad best friend:(

And yay!! you've posted more of the fic... after work today I'm going to have a cup of tea and a read. Looking forward to it:)

Hee. Well, the Bess/Ned/Nancy triangle story starts with the premise that Ned met and became interested in Bess and they became official before Nancy ever met Ned, and she had feelings for him but of course she couldn't say anything because Bess is her best friend. I think I'm only about 10 pages into it right now.

I love the first two ideas. The third one (Bess/Ned) sounds like it could be interesting - the best friend thing just isn't my cup of tea. I'm sure that if you make it clear the fic is about Nancy and Ned while exploring how their other relationships affect the Nancy/Ned one, you'll fit within the rules.

CIA. Undercover. MAGIC WORDS!

But seriously, the plots of most romance novels and romantic comedies and so on are about the characters being with other people or not being together. I think it's really a question of how you interpret "focus on". If the whole point of the story revolves around your main characters, I think you're still focusing on their relationship even if you've broken them up and are using OC pairings to show something about them and how they feel about each other.

I can't decide which story because the first two just sounds so good.
I just never did like the idea of Bess with Ned (even though the silly On Campus books seemed to show that) :( Or Nancy snatching Ned away from Bess. :S

Although whatever you write, I'll still definitely read it and cheer you on because your stories are always great :)

I have to pick just one?! *sigh*
K, I voted for the CIA/undercover one, but really, I'd just about die to see #1 or #2 come to light. I'd read #3 if you wrote it, too, but I'm not going crazy waiting for it (just can't see Ned/Bess, but if anyone can make it believable, it's you.)

Well, the good thing is that I plan on writing all three; I just needed to know which one to work on now. ;) And it sounds like the second choice for everyone is the kidnapping story, so there you go.
